Stone Zoo
Simulations with animated 3D models, 2016-2017. The 3D models are made with photogrammetry and are digital translations of physical objects. The 3D models of environments are made with photographs from zoological gardens, while the animals are made with photographs of animal sculptures in marble and granite. The 3D models of animals are animated in Blender and inserted into the 3D models of environments in Unity in which the simulations can be run. The title of the work comes from The Hall of Animals in the Vatican Museums which was made with the intention being a “stone zoo”. Above: Jumping 3D models of sculptures of amphibians.
