Images for Alkvantor
Images made in 2010/2011 for the book “Studies in Behavioral Economics” from grass root publishing house Alkvantor, which is run by students from The University of Copenhagen. The main written bodies of Alkvantor’s publications consist of theoretical texts by fellow students, in this case on the subject of behavioral economics, an area of study which uses social, cognitive and emotional factors in understanding the economic decisions of individuals. I was invited to do art for the book and ultimately made these images, which are all heavily edited photographs of pages from C. G. Jung’s “Flying Saucers”. The overall intention was to take the somewhat exotic, theoretical content of Jung’s book and turn it into a small series of very dry art-images. Perhaps even drier in appearance than the theoretical texts on behavioral economics.
